The Museum was a dream of our founder, Mr Hugh Manning, for many years and on September 18th 1993, THE DREAM became a reality.
With the sponsorship of Alcoa of Australia, Mr Manning and the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale, a piece of land in Wellard Street Serpentine was made available. Then, with an army of volunteers who provided much of the labour, such as site works, sand carting, painting, landscaping, steam cleaning, servicing and moving of tractors etc, THE DREAM HAD COME TRUE.
In 1994, The Museum won the Australia Day award for Community Event of the Year.

Jarrahdale Heritage Society
Jarrahdale is a small historic town nestled in the hills just 50 Km south of Perth. Situated in the Jarrah forests of the Darling Scarp, there is much to see and do in Jarrahdale. It is the perfect place to visit for a day or a week.
The Heritage Society is made up of vibrant volunteers from the Jarrahdale & surrounding community.

Who can join?
Anyone can become a member to use the library and borrow items. You can use the library without being a member. Membership is only required if you wish to borrow.
How do I Join?
Visit the library with proof of your current residential address such as a driver’s licence or bill and give your details to library staff. Staff will process the application and provide you with your library card within 5-10 minutes.
How long can I borrow items?
For three weeks at a time. Items can be renewed (provided no one else want them) in person, by phone or email. Or if they are not overdue you can also renew them online via our new online catalogue.
How many items can I borrow?
Eight items in total per membership.
